The five day workshop was held at the KU Field Station. KU researchers provided University research information, activities and resources to help teachers develop curriculum that links current research to NGSS standards about Kansas Aquatic and Terrestrial ecosystems and Geographic Information Systems. Ten high school science teachers from across Kansas participated in the workshop. The workshop is part of the outreach program for the Kansas NSF EPSCoR project, Microbiomes of Aquatic habitats, Plants, and Soils (MAPS) led by Jim Bever and a team of interdisciplinary researchers from KBS and KU.
